I hold a bachelor's degree in English as a Second Language and a master's degree in Literature.

Experience

I have more than 20 years of professional teaching and tutoring experience, so I understand what students need to pursue their goals. I also have 12 years of translating and interpreting experience in Malay/Indonesian, so I have firsthand experience working with languages as opposed to just studying them in academic settings. I am comfortable tutoring a trio of subjects: World Literature, WPPSI, and Writing. I find that helping students develop stronger study skills helps them with any of these. For example, working from an outline can make written assignments feel less overwhelming while highlighting important details as you read can make it easier to retain the information. I also encourage my students to ask questions whenever they don't understand something so that we can figure out the root cause of the issue together.
